FULL MOON TONIGHT... TIME TO BECOME A CELESTIAL BEAUTY...

Have you ever looked at a woman and noticed that she had the most serene glow and worldly aura you could call her a goddess? This Monday, in light of the lunar calendar’s mid-autumn festival, we curate a list of products and tell the tale of their use, inspiring you to transform from every day beauty to celestial beauty – catalysing your evolution into a moon goddess!
1. Milky skin

Time to put away the bronzer and fake tan – we are going from sun goddess to moon goddess. No better time to embrace the natural colour of our complexions! Nothing says moon goddess more than silky and milky skin. Achieve this look by looking for foundations that give you a satin, creamy finish to the skin. You’ll find complexion products that offer this finish are quite emollient in texture and in ingredients. .
Think Josie Maran Vibrancy Foundation, Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation, By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Foundation, Nars Sheer Glow Foundaiton, Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation.
2. Natural, full brows

Time to release your inner Brooke Shields, Jennifer Connelly, Lily Collins or Kaia Gerber – whomever’s full brows give you total brow envy! Fuller brows make a person look younger and it makes sense for a moon goddess to have what looks like eternal youthfulness.
To achieve a natural, full brow look it’s always a good idea to brush the brows ‘up and away’ to give instant lift to the eye area. Proceed by using a powder or pencil in the correct shade and to fill only where necessary. Finish with a touch of brow gel to keep the brow hairs textured, fluffy and in place, and you’re good to go.
3. Balmy lids

No, not oily lids – balmy lids! When gloss or iridescent, yet transparent eye product is applied to the lids, it can make the eyes look awake and alert. It also does an amazing job of bringing the focus to your irises so that you can stare into the soul of people with your pretty gaze. Look for clear, iridescent cream shadows or eye glosses to lightly dab across the lid area. Add a touch of sparkle with micro glitter pressed over the top if you’re feeling extra adventurous and ready for the celestial celebration.
4. Bloom with blush

With all the neutrality and dimension that a milky and glossy complexion brings, moon goddesses require a little flush of colour to the apples of the cheeks. We recommend going for a blush a little towards the spectrum of light pink with cooler or bluer undertones. If possible, opt for a cream blush or a powder blush with very finely milled particles in order to avoid looking overly matte.
5. Glossy glow

We want our Monday Mavens to look like they emerged from a glittering cave of celestial, moonlit waters… dripping in water – so much so that you’d give Edward Cullen’s diamond skin a run for its money. Liquid or cream highlighters or even multipurpose glosses can be placed on the high points of the face to provide dimension and life to the skin. We’re going for moon goddess beauty right? Can’t do it without any glow! Get glossin’ ladies!
6. Nude pout

Celestial beauty is all about beautiful, glowing, natural skin. So as not to detract from the skin being the main feature, complete the look with nude lips. And by nude, we mean pretty damn nude. If your birthday suit lips are naturally pigmented and darker in colour, feel free to reach for your perfect lighter nude lipstick. Otherwise, we suggest going for more of a nude lip stain or lip balm effect. Find the perfect product and pat into the lips instead of heavily applying the product.
Ah… so we’re at the end of our celestial beauty ritual segment. Hoping we’ve given you some beauty inspiration to take on being a moon goddess!
We would like to end this lunar focused blog piece with this beautiful quote:
“The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.” – Deng Ming-Dao, Everyday Tao: Living with Balance and Harmony
So basically, be like the moon my Monday moon goddesses.
Have a wonderful mid-autumn festival – it’s all about the moon vibes!
xoxo Miss Monday
